Direct deposit bank account number not accepted in Federal refund form

I wanted my Federal refund for 2019 taxes to go to my bank account via direct deposit. After I entered the routing number, the bank account number was limited to four characters, so I could not enter the bank account number. I could do so in the California state bank information form, but not in the Federal. Had to resort to waiting for a refund check in the mail from the IRS.

There are two separate lines for entering the routing number and the account number. The routing number is only 9 digits. The separate account number line will accept up to 17 digits. I can't believe an account number would be longer than 17 digits.
