Dividends o 2024 Desktop Turbotax not adding up?

Hello:

The turbotax dividends on Turbotax are not adding up and show numbers significantly greater than those shown on the 1099s from my investments. Also, when I go into details, they don't add up either. What is going on?

I see the same for 2023 turbotax dividends too?

Is this a bug, or am I missiing something?

Appreciate a quick response.  It ried to call Turbotax support and Turbotax Live but they seem to be closed for the day.

Best Regards,

What does your tax return show on lines 3a and 3b?   You may have duplicate entries.

Thanks for all the help. The dividends show a number which .ire than twice what you see by adding up the dividends when you click on update. I called TB online help. They could not find any issue offhand. They suggested to complete the tav return and then do a smart check to find the exact error. I do get K, 1s and have only preliminary umbers. I will try what they suggested but it is weird and looks like iI see it in the 2023 numbers too that they show in the last years value ( on the left column).

    Scary!

Dividends can come from other places like a K-1 and maybe something else.  Did you get any K-1 forms?   And  the 1099 forms may have imported along with any other 1099 forms you did import like a 1099R or 1099B.  Then you may have also entered them Manually, so they got entered twice.   Check Schedule B if you got a Sch  B.

it's a bit hard to tell what you are referring to not adding up to what, and what you mean by the details not adding up (which details and what are you comparing them to), if you can share more specifics.

If the 1099(s) were imported but not clearly matching the 1099 or creating duplicated numbers in TT you may want to just delete the 1099-DIV and input manually, 1099-DIVs are usually straightforward to enter; there have been a few posts with issues like this.
