You do not report your dependent's income on your tax return. She will report it on her own tax return and indicate that you are claiming her as a dependent. She may not be required to file her own 2019 tax return unless:

  • Her earned income (money you made by working) exceeds $12,200
  • Her unearned income (interest, dividends, capital gains, etc.) exceeds $1,100
  • Her business or self-employment net income (gross minus expenses) is at least $400
  • Her gross income (earned plus unearned) exceeds the larger of $1,100 or your earned income (up to $11,850) plus $350

Note: Even if her income falls below these filing requirements, she may want to file her own tax return to get a refund of any federal or state taxes withheld from her paychecks.
