Do I claim the same no. exemptions on the state form if I have 2 jobs? I know the number of allowances on fedW-4 cannot be same .Does the same hold true for state exemts?

do I claim the same number of exemptions on the state form if I have 2 jobs? I know the number of allowances on the Fed W-4 cannot be same amount. Does the same hold true for state exemptions? I like a decent refund back but also a healthy paycheck. I think I messed up last year when I got another job (occasional basis) but I put the same number of allowances on the Fed for both jobs. I went and changed that this week, but kept the state the same for both jobs at having 2 exemptions for each job

You can put however many you want without going over, I believe. Most people just put zero so that the most amount is withheld. Therefore, there's a good chance you won't owe come tax time & may even get a refund.
