You cannot file as HOH unless you also have a qualifying dependent---and your GF cannot be the qualifying dependent.

If you qualify as Head of Household, when you enter your filing status (single or married filing separately) into MyInfo, and then enter your qualifying dependent, TurboTax will offer HOH as your filing status.

As for whether your GF can be a qualifying relative to claim for the $500 credit for other dependents:
