Do I have to claim the children I am supporting on my taxes if I am claiming them as dependents on my W-2s ??

No, if you claimed children, (dependents/exemptions) on the W-4 you submitted at work identifying that you were claiming exemptions so your paychecks would be a little bigger, you do not have to claim them on your tax return. However, It would certainly benefit you if you did claim them on your tax return.  If you do not, chances are you will owe a lot more in taxes than you would if you had claimed them on your tax return.
