Do I have to pay an additional $44.99 if I want to receive direct deposit? I am already paying $99.98 to file my state and federal taxes.

There is no additional fee for selecting to receive your refund by direct deposit. 

But it sounds like you're choosing to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund.  This feature is known as the Refund Processing Service, and does have an additional cost.  If you've chosen to use the Refund Processing Service, you can avoid that fee by paying your TurboTax fees by credit card.  See the instructions below to review your TurboTax fees BEFORE filing:
