do i have to say i have zero dependents if my ex-wife is claiming our son on the 2024 taxes?

last tax season i claimed my son but this tax season belongs to my ex-wife.

Who does your son live with? If you are the non-custodial parent, then yes, you would say that you have 0 dependents for 2024.

If you are the custodial parent, then you can still include your son on your return as you would still be able to use him to claim Head of Household, The Child and Dependent Care Credit and for the Earned Income Tax Credit if you qualify as the non-custodial parent cannot claim these things.
