Question

Do I need to calculate the alternative calculation for marriage myself or does Turbo Tax do ir?

I was eligible for the advance premium payments for my healthcare from Feb til I got married in September. I reported that I got married but I continued to get benefits for healthcare thru November when I finally cancelled my policy as I thought reporting it and becoming uneligible would have done so. My husband was not eligiable before or after. How does this affect my 1095 A

You will have to report the 1095-A on your tax return and reconcile your Premium Tax Credit. Make sure that you check the box that you got married in 2024 because if you received the Advanced Premium Tax Credit TurboTax will need to know the month that you were married and who was covered to accurately calculate the credit. TurboTax will calculate the alternative calculation.
