Question

Do I need to claim my paid family leave in Massachusetts? It says the IRS has not made a decision if it is taxable yet but I received a 1099G.

Yes, you will still need to claim them if you file now.  If you are taxed on them now and the IRS later determines that they are not taxable, you will likely get a refund at a later time when they go in and process the change.  This can take weeks to months.

You can also choose to hold off on filing your return for a little bit to see if they make a determination prior to the tax filing deadline.
