Do I need to file if my income was less than $25000 ? I'm single,head of household. On social secirity.

Hi -- Looks like you won't need to file taxes if your only income is Social Security because 1) Your Social security is not taxable and 2) your taxable income is under  your standard deduction. But you may want to file your return if you qualify for refundable credits. I've included some links below.

Yes, you do need to file.
