Do I need to file my taxes if I made less than $2000?

Depends what kind of income.  If you are an employee and get a W2 you don’t have to file except to get back any withholding taken out.  If you only get SS or SSDI or ssi you don't have to file.  Oh you do have to file if you get a 1095A for Marketplace health ins.

 

If you have self employment income or get a 1099NEC you do have to file and pay self employment tax on it.
