Yes, you need to include any income from 2016 on your tax return, if you are required to file.  To enter your Unemployment from your 1099-G, you will log into your account on TurboTax Online, or open your TurboTax Desktop program. Then, follow the steps listed below to enter the information:

  • Go to Federal Taxes
  • Go to Wages & Income. 
  • On the Wages & Income page, look for Unemployment
  • Next to Unemployment click Show More 
  • Choose to Start

After you choose to start the Unemployment section of your income, TurboTax will guide you through entering the information.
