Do I need to use the self employed preparation to file taxes? We have 3 W-2s and I worked as independent contractor as well. Always filed married filing jointly.

Yes, if you worked an independent contractor and have self-employment income and expenses to report you will need to use TurboTax Self-Employed Online edition. In the alternative, if you prefer to use a desktop version of the software, you can choose TurboTax Home & Business Edition - CD/ Download (https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/)
