Do I pay taxes if I get deposits in my bank account in the USA but I live in another country?

I'm currently in the USA with a J1 visa, doing an academic training after graduating from my Master's program. I will leave the country soon, but I will continue working for the company that im doing the academic training at as a contractor. They want me to keep my bank account here in the USA so they can make the deposits to that account instead of transferring money straight to a bank in the Dominican Republic. Would I have to pay taxes if I receive these deposits in my bank account here in the USA even though I'm living in the DR and I'm not a USA citizen nor a resident?
