It's possible that filing an Injured Spouse Allocation form might still be in your best interest, but first you should check to see if you're still subject to an offset for any student loan debt.
As you're aware, your federal tax refund can be intercepted to satisfy delinquent federal student loan debt. But even though you've refinanced your student loans, it's still possible that some of your debt is may be delinquent.
To find out if any refund would potentially offset a student loan debt, call the Bureau of the Fiscal Service's Treasury Offset Program. You'll find the number in the IRS' Topic Number 203 - Reduced Refund.
