Question

Do i use the 1095-A form my parent received on my tax returns even though I'm not paying for it. Are we both able to use the same form?

if you are a member of their household, ie they're claiming you as a dependent, you do not use the 1095-A

I am not being claimed as a dependent, but my Filing keeps getting rejected until i enter the 1095-A information.

Yes, if your name and social security number are associated with a policy at the Marketplace, the IRS will be looking for a Form 1095-A in your return. Please enter the form for your policy and then allocate the policy amounts on the following screens.

On the Let us know if these situations apply to you screen, check the box for I shared this policy with another taxpayer who's not on my taxes.

Then on the next page, it will want you to divide the premium payments made on the policy between you and your parents. In some cases people split it 50-50. The IRS will compare the two returns and be sure that not more than 100% is claimed between them. If you were on your parents insurance, they are probably claiming 100% and you can claim 0%. You will want to check with them and be sure.
