Do the SSI income for both parties on a joint tax return get entered on the same line?

You don't enter ssi.  It is not taxable.  But if you mean SS or SSDI or got a SSA-1099 you enter each one in the right column.  On a Joint return there is a column for each of you.  Oh you mean on the actual 1040 form?  Yes they both go on line 5a ant the taxable amount on 5b.

See screen shot added above.  If one person has more than 1 SSA-1099 you do add them together.
