Do you still have to declare what months you had health insurance in 2016?

I am hearing that you may not have to declare whether you had health insurance in 2016. Is this true, or do you still have to prove you had health coverage for 2016? Do you have to pay the penalty for not having insurance all year?

Yes you will still have to claim the months you did and did not have insurance.
