Hello,

New to TurboTax this year and wanted to have an idea of what tax documents I will need to include when I file my taxes online through TurboTax ? Will Turbo Tax at the end of my tax forms tell me what to include before I submit them online ? Just want to make sure when I submit to Federal and State I include any extra documents in addition to what Turbo Tax is doing on my behalf.

Thanks and look forward to the feedback.

No. What you entered into TurboTax will be sent with your return electronically.

Generally TurboTax will file electronically all required documents and information.

If you e-file, there are not any documents to mail.  It is all done electronically and you just save your documents for your own records.

When electronically file a tax return, e-file. the TurboTax program will include in the e-filed tax return for both Federal and State all required forms and schedules for each tax return.  You do not have to make the decision since it is done automatically.

......with the exception of active stock traders, where they summarize all their short and long-term stock trades, then those individuals do have to mail in the detailed trade sheets, even if they e-file the rest of their forms.

AND, you DO have to retain all your tax forms (W-2, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV etc) in a file folder for future use..becasue the IRS and State tax departments do occasionally ask questions later (I recommend 7-10 years...but others claim shorter is OK).....once you throw them away, it can be almost impossible to get new copies.
