Question

Does any of my data pass through TurboTax / Intuit's servers during electronic failing? Does it stay? Privacy and other notices do not address this question.

Yes, your e-file passes through an Intuit server where it goes through basic checks to make sure that it can be processed by the IRS and states. All providers of e-file services have something similar - it's the way the e-file system works. If you e-file and the IRS servers are down, your return will be held on the Intuit server until the IRS begins accepting returns again. I can't speak to whether or not it stays on the server and if so, for how long.
