If you haven't file your return yet you can delete the W-2 that was entered by accident by following the steps below:

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Go to Federal Taxes.
  3. Go to Wages and Income.
  4. Select the W-2 and click Edit/Add.
  5. Select delete and confirm that you want to delete that W-2.

If your return has been filed and it is pending, you won't be able to make any changes until it's been accepted or rejected by the IRS. If the IRS rejects the return, you can make the necessary changes and resubmit the return. However, if the return has been accepted you need to amend you return to remove the W-2.

Wait until your return has been fully processes and you received your refund ( if you are expecting a refund ), then amend your return.

Follow the steps to amend your return:

  1. Sign in to you account.
  2. Scroll down to Your tax return & documents , select 2019 and then Amend (change) return
  3. Select Amend using TurboTax Online.
  4. follow the instructions, your refund or tax due will change to 0. This is normal on amended returns.
