Does TurboTax send an electronic file to the IRS for those who have to print and mail the paper forms? Does IRS compare the electronic file to the paper forms?

I started my taxes using TurboTax and got the notification to send in paper forms. I then decided to use a different software platform. The final refund amounts on TurboTax are different, so I sent in forms from the other software platform in early March. I have heard nothing from the IRS and I've tried to call and get information online with no success. All I can think of is that maybe TurboTax sent an electronic file to the IRS and the paper forms I sent in from the other tax software is different, resulting in some kind of discrepancy in their system. If just need to know if TurboTax sends an electronic file, regardless of whether you file online or via paper forms. That would help me clear all of this up.

TurboTax cannot print and mail your tax returns, only you can do that.

TurboTax cannot electronically file your tax returns until you initiate the transmission of the tax returns.

You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large Orange button labeled "Transmit my returns now".

After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.

The message I get when I log in is, "Way to Go! You have filed your 2019 taxes." That is what is so confusing. I went through the entire process and got a notification to send in paper forms. I could not efile because of the notification. Now the notification is saying I have filed. That's why I want to know if TurboTax sent the IRS an electronic file pending my submission of paper forms.

if you did not click on the orange transmit button in TT nothing was sent, That's because if you did you would have gotten an e-mail say submitted then another one saying accepted or rejected.
