Download TurboTax from previous years

Hi,

I looked at my Product and Billings on Intuit so I could reinstall TurboTax from previous year. It is not showing the download for 2021 and 2017 -- both years that I previously used and paid for TurboTax. How can I download the software from those previous years?

You might have another account. But I don’t think you will be able to download 2017. They only support the last 3 years. You should be able to find 2021.

It's common to end up with multiple accounts. First LOG OUT of whatever TurboTax account you're logged into right now. Then use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of user ID's for an email address. Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used

I did have another account and found the 2021 download.

I also can download the 2018 software. I did my 2017 return online rather than desktop. Is there a way to download 2017? How do I amend my tax return for 2017?

You can retrieve any tax return that you prepared with TurboTax Online. You can access them by signing into your account and scrolling down to the bottom of the page and expanding the section titled Your tax returns & documents.

Click on 2017 and download the PDF. To amend the return in TurboTax, you would need to download the tax file from the Tax Home page instead of the PDF and you would need the 2017 which TurboTax does not support anymore. You could try to find it through an online seller or you could manually prepare the 1040-X.
