Downloading my 2021 and 2022 desktop return ISSUE

I need to amend my 2021 and 2022 tax returns. When I tried downloading both years separately using the link that is saved on my hard drive for each year, the complete file does not download for either return. What is the issue and how can I correct this issue so I am amend both files using my Turbo Tax? Thank you

Did you use the Desktop program or the Online version to file the original returns? Do you have the tax files on your computer? They end in .tax2021 and .tax2022. They should be in your Documents then in a Turbo Tax folder or search you computer for all files ending in .tax etc.

After you get the program installed or reinstalled the first thing to do before you open your tax return is to update the program and install any state programs you had. Then open your file. So you first might need to start a fake return to be able to download the state program (go to File-New Tax Return).

Then go to FILE -Open and find your return.

Make sure you are using these guidelines to amend.

If you want to make changes or add a document to a tax return that has already been submitted, you should follow these guidelines.

You must first wait until the initial return is completely processed.
You will have to use the same TurboTax account that you used for the original tax return.
Once you begin your amendment, you'll see your original return. 
The refund calculator will start new at $0 and only reflect the changes in the refund or tax due
Only make changes to the areas of your return that need amending.
You have three years from the date you filed your return or two years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment
