downloading turbotax on more than one device

Upon downloading turbotax on a second device, I get the following message " The license code is already linked to another account. Error code: "608".

What does this mean. How can I install on a second device?

You can install TurboTax on up to five devices. But when you do you have to log in to the TurboTax account using the same log in information as you did on the first device. That software is linked to that account and only that account can use it.

If you wish to file tax returns for family members since you can file for up to five people you will have to enter their information into your account.

I just loaded my TurboTax Premier 2024 on a second device because I will be leaving the country and need to continue my tax return from abroad. However, all of the information I have entered on my first device, a desktop computer, does not carry to the second device, a laptop. Do I have to start over from scratch with my return, which is only missing the foreign tax credit at this time?

You can copy your .tax2024 file to a removable drive, then download to your new device. When you install TurboTax on your new device, you'll be able to open the program and browse to the tax file.

Once you've installed the program, double-clicking on the tax file can also open it in the program.
