I'm on F1 status from 09/08/2016 to 07/31/2022 and my H1B got approved on 08/01/2022.
Among those years, I only traveled outside the US during these periods 05/25/2023 - 06/24/2023 and 02/03/2024 - 02/17/2024. To file my 2023 Tax in 2024, should I file as a dual status alien or a resident alien?
The IRS says "You're considered a resident alien for a calendar year if you meet the green card test or the substantial presence test for the year." So you're a resident alien for this year.
