Question

e-file fee for Wisconsin says $20 but TT wants to charge me $25?

In Home & Business Desktop, I'm ready to e-file. The fee listed for e-filing my Wisconsin return is $20 but when I proceed to make the payment, the credit card charge is coming up as $25 instead. I don't see an additional "service fee" etc. listed, so don't understand the discrepancy. Anybody know what's what with this?

same here, I filed my IL state on 2/22 and paid $20.  Filed my son's today 3/2 and it said $20 but I got a receipt for $25.  I've been searching to see if there was a price increase with the update they had me do

called customer service.  the guy on the phone tried to tell me that the extra fee was because my son had more than one W2, which he does every year, and it was only this year I was charged more.  Nowhere does it say IL State charges more for more then one W2 that I have seen.  I call BS

Having the same issue filing in WI. Right before I go to pay it says $20 but then I put in my credit card info and it jumps to $25. On the phone with customer service and they are not able to figure out why there is a difference.

Had the same issue with CO. Spoke with customer service, who informed me the fee increased to $25 in March. Would have been nice to know before literally getting to the last step. No offer to refund the difference, just the suggestion to print and mail to avoid the $25 charge.

I had the same problem. The software said it would be $20 per additional state but then when it took my credit card information it charged me $25 per state.

@wesselmccoy The e-file charge for a state tax return when using the TurboTax desktop editions is $20 if the state return is e-filed prior to March 1.  On March 1 the e-file charge increases to $25.  This occurs every year when the desktop editions are used.

My complaint is that the software told me one price and then billed me a different price. If the price changes the updated price should be given. I was still being told it would be $20 in September long after what your saying was the price change.
