E-File says middle initial must be present. I have no middle init. The taxpayer info sheet (Form 1040-SR) shows middle initial blank . How do I file?

Are you having issues with the E-file signature section?

When you are typing your name in the signature section, is it giving you an error?

The software is very picky with the signature section. The trick is to type your name exactly as it's shown above the signature section, including middle initials and capitalization.

Check how your name is spelled above the signature section. Make sure you capitalize any letter as shown above, and include or remove any middle initials to match your name exactly as it appears.
