Question

E-file was rejected because it says my spouses AGI or PIN is incorrect. I mailed spouses return last year so no PIN included and I confirmed AGI is correct.

Last year I filed separate, but this year I filed joint. Can't get it approved because of spouses PIN. When I try to leave it blank for efile it says to make a PIN and doesn't let me leave it blank. So I create a new one but still kicks back.

Try using zero for her AGI.

Have you tried entering both of your AGI's from your 2021 returns instead of a PIN?  If you're not required by the IRS to use an Identity Protection Pin when filing, this may resolve your Efile reject.

Since one of you mailed a return last year, the PIN number is not valid anyway, and the IRS now uses your AGI from the prior year instead.
