There is a possibility that the IRS does not have your 2020 AGI in their database.

Enter a 0 (zero) for the 2020 AGI and e-file the 2021 tax return again.

Two possibilities.    1) The IRS processed the return late and the AGI did not get entered into the database, in which case enter 0 (zero) for the AGI and re-file.  Or 2), there is an error in the IRS database (not unusual) but impossible to get corrected, so the only remedy is to paper file by mail.

I had the same efile reject error as last year, ID 031-04 even after I put in the AGI amount per the IRS website/record. Am really disappointed with TurboTax. Two years in a row cannot efile! Any suggestions?

U fortunately, TURBOTAX agents cop an attitude, spending their time paging through a manual to find verbiage to end the call rather then listening to the issue and providing a solution. When I questioned her answer, she replied, "it just will and that is how it is".

Have you tried entering $0 for your AGI to complete your filing?  For more information on this, please see the Help Article here.

If you have tried all options listed here and above to no avail, there might be a mismatch of data within the IRS database, and you will need to file by mail.  For more details on this, please see this Help Article.
