Is this line 7 on Schedule A Form 1040 2018

    No. State and local taxes are those you paid to a state or local taxing authority. Most often, these taxes are withheld from wages.

    Which amount do I enter for state and local taxes paid from Schedule A of my filed 2018 tax return?  is it Line 5a, 5d or the amount on Line 5e which is the same as Line 7 $10,000?

    Line 7 has the total amount of deductible state and local taxes which is limited to $10000.
