Entering a 1098 form made my refund lower. Do i have to enter it as a deduction, my name is not on the form.

If the 1098-T is not in your name, are you reporting it because the student is your dependent?

If the student is your dependent and box 5 (Scholarships) is more that box 1 or box 2, there could be taxable income to report, which could affect your refund, but you would not claim that income, the student would.
