I filed my taxes and imediately founf an error that cost me $500 in refund how do i. correct this and will this increase my audit chances

First wait until the tax return that you filed has been processed and you have received the refund. Then you can file an amended return, Form 1040-X, to make the correction and get the additional refund.

No one can say for sure whether filing an amended return would increase your chances of being audited, but I would not give up $500 because you're worried about an audit.
