Question

Every year I have to file a Form 1116, but with the TurboTax online software, nothing was mentioned. Did the new tax law did away with this?

no.  but if you have no foreign tax credits its not needed.  did you select the option not to file it if the total FTC from passive activities is below $300 single or $600 joint.
