Question

Filed online on the 15th. Have not sent paperwork in. Should I redo e-file or continue with paper filing?

What do you mean "filed online?"  Did you e-file?  Or do you just mean you filled in answers to the questions?  In order to e-file you have to go all the way through the FILE section and click a big orange button that says "Transmit my return now."

You are posting from TurboTax Live.  You can arrange for the Live help you are paying the extra fee for with your questions from 8a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time Monday - Friday.

Turbotax says "filed" on 15 April but could not complete full E-file because I could not access my 2017 AGI due to it being a combat tax extension return the record wasn't coming up and my paper W-2's were not geo-located with me. I had to print for mailing to complete. I have not mailed it yet.

So my question is should I amend my "filed" turbotax documents now that I have my 2017 AGI and fully complete E-file? or continue with paper filing? Which would be in my best interest late penalty wise?

Thank you for the help!

You do not click on anything that says "amend" in order to e-file your 2018 return.  You do not amend a return that has never been filed in the first place.  You "amend" only to correct mistakes made on a fully processed tax return.  If you now have your 2017 AGI you can go back through the FILE section to enter it and e-file the return.  If it still rejects, then you will have to print, sign and mail the return.

You probably do the second link first how to switch to efile
Then change the AGI.
