FILING 2018 TAXES TURBO TAX SOFTWARE

so am I understanding this right I have seen 2 comments on the community pages?

1. We have to download 2018 Turbo Tax to prepare for 2018 taxes(which I know I have to print and mail to the IRS I Just need the software to run the numbers)

2. We can use the current year software but when it comes to the "filing" part we can choose 2018? to print. The answer also stated that "we will walk you through".

1. To use TurboTax in preparing and completing a 2018 tax return you would have to purchase, download and install on a personal computer (Windows or Mac) one of the 2018 desktop editions from this website - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

A 2018 tax return can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed.

Print, sign, date and mail the tax return to the IRS. Include with the mailed return any forms W-2 and 1099 which have taxes withheld.

2. The current year software (2019 or 2020) cannot be used to complete or file a 2018 tax return.
