I have a relative in a nursing home,Ineed to file a tax return,her social security and husbands pensionpays the nursing home

Does she have any income other than the pension and social security? If not she does not have to file a tax return. Depending on what state you live in, you may or may not have to file a return. If your state does not tax pensions then you would not have to file a state tax return.
