My son is deceased and I found out that he did not file his 2019 or 2020 taxes, also meaning he did not get his stimilus payments.  I can not seem to figure out how to file these. What do I do?

Hello, sorry to hear about your loss. Yes, you can still file the return for your son as if they were alive.

If the deceased had not filed individual income tax returns for the years prior to the year of their death, you may have to file.

It's your responsibility to pay any balance due and to submit a claim if there's a refund.

If you want to use TurboTax you will have to use the following link to file prior year returns:

If you like my response, please give me a thumbs up. Thanks!

Hi There

Here is a good article from the IRS regarding  2020 rebate credit and eligibility:

2020 recover rebate

If your are eligible (on behalf of son) here is a link for software to file a 2020 tax return from which you can claim credit.
