Question

For 2019 it labeled my daughter as my “nephew” would that have effected my return amount? And do I need to correct it?

No, there would not be any change to your 2019 tax return.  If the child qualified as dependent as your daughter, she would have also qualified as a nephew.

If a niece or nephew is under under age 17 and U.S. residents or citizens, you may qualify for the Child Tax Credit.

Yes, you should correct her status on your 2020 tax return.
