For a brokerage 1099-DIV, exempt interest dividends for fund VMLTX, TurboTax is asking what state(s) the dividends are from. How can I determine this?

Portfolio Weight of Municipal Tax Exempt = 95.66 %, Cash and Equivalent is 4.24%, Municipal Taxable is 0.1%

Mutual fund/ETF websites publish this info as supplemental tax information, see following and scroll down to section on munis.

You don't need to input every state just an entry for your home state and use "more than one state" for everything else, and check your state return that you see the subtraction for your home state amount.

This information is typically provided in the statements to the 1099-DIV. If not, you will need to contact the brokerage for the state allocation.
