form 3520 gift * form 8939 foreign financial asset

I got a check of 200,000 Euro from my mother last time I went to Europe, as gift.

I have opened a checking account in Europe and deposited 185,000 Euro and spent 15,000 in leisure.

I have to file form 8938 showing the financial asset (foreign bank account 185,000) and also file form 3520 showing the gift (200,000) that I received.

 

The question is on form 3520 Do I have to check the box C (check if any excepted specified foreign financial assets are reported on this form)

    You would have go look on Form 8938, on line 15 of Part IV to see if you included the Form 3520 as one of the forms entered on the Form 8938. If so, then you would check the Box C on Form 3520.
