Forms Not Ready?

Turbo Tax is saying 8889-T and the OR 40 forms are not available yet the IRS AND Oregon has them both ready on their site. When will Turbo Tax get it updated so I can file? Or would it be more prudent to get a refund of the money I already paid and use a different service that is on top of things and has them updated and ready to go?

Federal and state forms must be approved by the IRS and the states before they can be finalized and available.  This is the same for any tax preparation software company.

Go to this TurboTax website for federal and state forms availability - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product=Turbotax_online&bu=cg

Yes, I know this. My point is BOTH of those forms are approved and ready to be used on both the IRS and state websites so why doesn't TT have them ready to go?

Because it takes a bit of time to finalize the hundreds of forms and schedules that are included in the Federal tax return and the 42 states which have an income tax.

Additionally, the IRS is not accepting tax returns until late January so e-filing a return now will have the return sitting on a server for a couple of weeks waiting for the IRS and States to start pulling the returns.
