Hello, I understand you filed your tax return prior to the American Rescue Plan was signed with the unemployment compensation exclusion.  First, I would review your tax return and confirm your unemployment compensation is listed on your 2020 Schedule 1 Line 7.

The IRS did not require an amended return be filed as they are automatically adjusting these returns.

The IRS has been making adjustments on tax returns and issuing refunds.  If you have not received your refund yet, the IRS has said that they will be sending refunds throughout the summer which doesn’t officially end until September 22nd.

I hope you find this information useful!
