Got a 1099-NEC for an internship i did in the spring

It wasn't for school or anything. The internship wasnt paid by the hour but they gave a stipend. Its not a business or anything so i dont know how exactly i should file this. Is this considered self employment or something else?

    It is considered Self-Employment.  Since this income was not related to school, it is considered as being paid for services.  Sounds like you were interning in preparation for a position or to gain experience in a special field.  You will have to file the form as a self employed individual. using the steps below.

     

    Log into your TurboTax account

    Go to Federal

    Wages and Income

    Self Employment Start

    Follow the prompts and answer all questions.

    You will be prompted to enter income
