Have a rejected e-file. no code given , but just a statement saying there might be a duplicate 1099R. Looked at and found no problem. How do I refile ?

Did refile, still getting rejected. How do i get return accepted?

If you do have two 1099-R's that are correct but have the same amount it may have been picked up as a duplicate.

 

A workaround to resolve this is to add $1 to one 1099-R and subtract $1 from the other.

Then attempt to re-file the tax return.

Yes that did solve the problem. thanks,  my wife and I both had received the same amount from our Roth.  even though different name -  picked up as duplicate.  Added one dollar to one and subtracted a dollar from the other.  Was accepted.
