Question

Hello, I had a problem with my W2, so I couldn’t e-file this year. When can I mail my check and return form? The tax season is 3 weeks from now

My statement is ready, but I don’t know if I have to wait until tax season begins to mail it

No, you do not have to wait to mail in your income tax return.  The February 12 date is for electronic filing.

FYI, it will take much longer to process your return if you mail in your return.

IRS is way behind on paper returns. You will wait a long time. for a refund that way. If you owe, it doesn't matter.

The e-filing delay is based on the fact that the IRS computers are not programmed for all the last minute tax law changes yet.  I don't see how they could process a paper return when their computers aren't ready for e-filing, I suspect any mailed returns will go into a warehouse somewhere.  I don't see any advantage to mailing a return early.
