Hello, I work for an independent contractor and would like to know if the self employed service is what I need to use?

Yes if you got a 1099Misc instead of a W2.  You can enter Self Employment Income into Online Deluxe or Premier but if you have any expenses you will have to upgrade to the Self Employed version.

How to enter income from Self Employment

Yes, TurboTax Self-Employed is exactly the product you need if you are an independent contractor.  This is the highest level of personal tax software, so it will handle W-2 wages as well as any self-employment income and expenses.
