Hello, if i started my unemployment in 2022 and it ran into 2023, do i need to claim it in 2024?

No.  You would claim unemployment received in 2022 on your 2022 tax return, and any received in 2023 would be included on your 2023 income tax return.

 

Only amounts you actually receive in 2024 will be included on your 2024 tax return.

You should have got a 1099G for each year you got unemployment.    So you need to report the unemployment you got in 2023 on your 2023 return you are filing now in 2024.
