Hello last year, my taxes were much more confusing this year. They’re very simple. Do I still have to pay for the assisted TurboTax?

Can I use TurboTax without having to pay for it if I paid for it last year I do not want the assisted version

You do not have to use the assisted version. You can use the self-paced version of TurboTax and do it all yourself.

We can't answer whether the version of the program that you need will be free or not based on your information. But you can start out free and then - if your taxes are too complex to use the free version of TurboTax - the system will alert you that you need to upgrade in order to use the feature that you are about to use.
